Technical Revenue Manager Contractor:

This position focuses on providing revenue recognition guidance on new contracts, finalizing and booking the appropriate revenue treatment on closed deals, and providing revenue recognition guidance and support to the business. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of revenue by providing guidance, technical expertise, business sense, and a strong desire to improve processes and controls. This position may also include revenue operations activities such as helping to ensure revenue close process efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring the accuracy of revenue reporting (both from a management reporting and external reporting perspective), analyzing key trends/judgement areas, booking journal entries for revenue deferral as well as performing deferred revenue analysis.


Subject matter expert on ASC 606Review Draft revenue contracts and guide the business on deal structuringReview customer arrangements for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards, book journals to ensure appropriate accounting for revenue and cost treatmentsProvide support and assistance in determining proper accounting for product and service revenueBe a partner with subject matter expertise in revenue and work diligently on finding solutions to critical issues. Develop and maintain working relationships across Legal, Sales, Product Line managers and Finance teamsResearch and write technical revenue accounting memos that addresses the issue, and provide analysis and conclusions related to various customer arrangementsEnsure the integrity of key processes by understanding systems, flow of transactions, internal controls and recommending efficiency and effectiveness improvementsStay current on new revenue accounting rules and help develop appropriate policies and processesProvide supporting documentation for the quarterly and annual revenue auditsForecasting revenue adjustmentEducation:

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 5 years of professional experience including high-technology industry experience on revenue recognition. Ideal candidate would have a combination of public company and public accounting experience.Revenue Recognition experience including expertise in ASC 606Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
