Aspire Cambridge are recruiting for a Graduate Embedded Systems Engineer for our client based in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire.
Our client are looking for engineers to join their growing team to help design and manufacture software defined radio (SDR) based products, including cellular base stations, scanners and other specialist radio equipment.They work across a range of technologies including embedded hardware and software, radio, communication stacks and physical layers and the entire product life cycle from concept through production and into deployment.
To fit into the business you are likely to be passionate about engineering and keen to advance your career in a small team working in a collaborative environment just outside Cambridge, UK.You are likely to have recently attained, or expect to attain, a good degree in Electronic Engineering, Computing, or similar, and have a keen interest in mobile communications and radio systems.

About the Client
They are a dynamic and growing company based on the outskirts of Cambridge, serving customers worldwide. They specialise in cellular and bespoke communication markets through inhouse development of software defined radio hardware, physical layers and protocol stack software.
Their products include LTE, UMTS and GSM small cells using their own SDR platform. They also undertake contract design and development projects based on their extensive SDR knowledge and IP.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
To make the most of this opportunity, you are likely to:
have at least a 2:1 degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering or a comparable discipline from a good university, be proficient in C/C++, be self-starting and have the ability to work under your own initiative, have a creative and structured approach to problem-solving, be comfortable communicating and collaborating within a small team, have a desire for self-improvement and personal development, have the time-management skills needed to successfully complete projects. Knowledge of at least some of the following areas is likely to beneficial:
Digital communication systems. Mobile telephony systems, such as 5GNR, LTE, UMTS and GSM. Digital Signal Processing. Operating system kernel and device drivers. Linux system administration. Open Source project interaction or contribution. RTL development, ideally using Verilog It is also essential that you are eligible to work in the UK. Day to day activities might include:
System design, including gaining an appreciation of cellular and other specifications, Embedded system design, typically C/C++ on an embedded linux platform, Protocol stack development, again in C/C++, Physical layer algorithm development, often in Verilog on an FPGA, RF board level design and test, design and development of a range of tools for use in-house and by customers Development and execution of product test Start: June - September Location: Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: 25,000 to 30,000
