Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Principal Responsibilities:

Engineer network communication and telephony solutionsEngineer server and data infrastructure solutionsEngineer end user device solutions and applications (mobile, workstation, etc.)Engineer the monitoring and capacity planning platforms of the systems, network, data and end user infrastructureCreate/manage technical reference documentation (policy, procedures, knowledgebase, etc.)Provide senior level technical guidance and serve as an escalation point for engineering and development teamsAssist with evaluations and proof of conceptsCoordinate task deliverables with other project initiatives and teamsSecure and harden the network, server, data and end user infrastructureProvide regular (and ad-hoc) reports to leadership team and the business as needed


Typically, a BA/BS, MBA or equivalent, with 10+ years of related experienceHeavy Microsoft architecture history required (AD, Exchange, Sharepoint, SQL)Thorough virtualization and cloud experience (VMware, OpenStack, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.)Scripting experience with VB script, shell, PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.Thorough and proven knowledge of disaster recovery, backup and data protection conceptsProven history of IT remediation of audit/legal/compliance recommendationsSolid understanding of routing and switching conceptsExperience with Firewall and security appliancesExpert level knowledge of infrastructure services (DNS, FTP, IIS, etc.)Advanced knowledge of security patching methodologiesIndependent, energetic and a yearn to learnExcellent analytical and troubleshooting skillsSome project management experience preferredCorporate level communication skills required Company Description About The Rockridge Group:
