Senior Network Design Engineer Manchester 50-53,000 plus training, bonus, pension, healthcare, flexible working.
This is a combined core network design / implementation role which will report into the Engineering Manager for a company that is established, well-funded and growing.
Ideal World, we are looking for a core network engineer with design experience from an ISP.
Day to day this new position is going to be varied and youll get some real say by way of how things will be done for the core network. Youll be developing high and low level designs, implement the network changes across core and access networks and pretty much own the design and testing of new products and services in this connectivity provider.
Number of initial projects and innovations scheduled at the moment including the deployment of an Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) network, alongside on-going Automation & SDN and innovation.
Its a mixed vendor environment and current setup is Juniper (10G core), Nokia (BT Exchange & 100G Core) and Cisco (L2TP).
This senior engineering role will focus on the core network but will also be working closely with the NOC and development teams by way of the build and deployment of automation tools, and with a significant recruitment programme underway, youll be coming on board during an exciting period of growth and opportunity so if you are maybe looking to move into an environment that offers variety and the chance to have more say, then this could be the one.
Who are you?
* Juniper (Preferably) or Cisco core network engineering on both design & implementation. * L2 and L3 VPN, BGP, OSPF & QoS * Previous experience of working in a design position for an ISP and ideally, a solid understanding of Openreach EAD and OSA. * Capacity Management * Optical transport including DWDM.
