Position Summary

The Ecommerce Web Developer will be the lead in updating our ecommerce websites and develop new templates and features to support our merchandising goals, as well as direct the functions of the front and back-end web development of the Murray’s Cheese website, to ultimately provide a great customer experience. The ideal candidate will have worked their way up through the ranks and have a strong foundation on the web engineering front while also having spent time collaborating and communicating effectively across functional teams in the business. You are familiar with developing software in order to maintain, expand and scale the Murray's Cheese websites. You have strong communication skills, project management and product management skills, and an up-to-date awareness of site marketing techniques. The Ecommerce Web Developer works cross functionally with Ecommerce Manager and UX design to deliver best in class customer experiences, under the guidance of the Associate Director of Ecommerce.

What You Do

- System Management - Build, maintain and improve the software systems for our face paced ecommerce business. Integrate data from various back-end services and databases

- Content Management - HTML/CSS Code - Deploy code, iterate and use data and UX insights to develop the most impactful possible features on our website. Participate in design and code reviews to help maintain our standards of UX and code quality

- SEO/SEM Management - Optimize content according to SEO/SEM standard best practices. They must have knowledge of search engine analytics to maximize traffic to websites.

- Merchandising Liaison - Assist in the execution of the visual merchandising strategy, navigation strategy and content marketing strategy, and deployment of content. Manage day-to-day website updates inclusive of promotions, product launches, and marketing initiatives to ensure smooth, efficient and accurate execution. Support digital production of web assets inclusive of analytics tagging, and linking strategy, to be featured on category landing pages, product pages, online shopping tools, and desktop, mobile, and beta-site homepages. Support and execute improvements to navigation, site search and filtering to improve ease of product discovery.

- Product Management – Assist with setting the strategy for development projects, prioritize releases, collaborate with design partners, and clearly define features of the entire lifecycle of products.

- Project Management – Collaborate with design, customer experience and other partners to oversee a fixed project from beginning to end. Execute the strategy set by the leadership team, utilize Murray’s project briefing standards and communicate effectively.

What We Need From You
