Our large Financial client is currently seeking a few Mainframe Developers in Irvine, Ca as they are losing a couple team members to retirement but still expanding the team and the scope of work due to a growth in business. The client is looking for someone seasoned that could be plug and play with their primary skillset being Mainframe COBOL.

Requirements

Candidate must be able to develop program specifications based on business requirements

Preference will be given to candidates that are familiar with Banking, Mortgage, Loan Servicing and/or Insurance business.

Worked as an Application Developer with Cobol supporting IDMS or DB2 and VSAM

Supporting the business for maintenance and enhancements with a lot of batch jobs

Code, unit test and debug complex application programs

Must have participated in the application design of systems

Develop from functional specifications and assist users in testing, training and preparation for operations

Participate in projects throughout the complete life cycle.

Be able to follow through with successful resolution of production issues reported

Be willing to work supporting a small offshore team

Responsibilities

The Application Developer's primary responsibility is for maintenance and minor enhancements of the Mainframe systems. Work pertains to interfaces and integration with their clients (thus the benefit of understanding mortgage loan servicing systems is a plus.) Also, willingness to work with their small offshore team will be required.
