I am currently in search of a development Oracle DBA to join a leading global financial services organisation based in the heart of Bristol. Due to growing demand they are currently looking for an Oracle DBA to join them, initially on a six-month contract.

The Oracle Database Administrator will be required to manage and administer Oracle Databases in order to optimise their performance and availability. Therefore the successful candidate would require experience of most of the following:Oracle 9i through to Oracle 12cOracle Fusion Middleware / Forms and Reports servicesSolaris an RHEL Linux PlatformsPL/SQL SQL coding skillsBash/Ksh scripting on Solaris/RHEL LinuxMigrations from Oracle 9i/10g to 12cCapacity Planning and sizing Appreciation of the importance of change controlSupport of multiple medium-sized databases Performance tuning including code reviews to ensure that optimal code is being deliveredSecurity administrationBackup and recovery using RMAN and cold backup scriptsExperience of moving databases between platformsProduce run books for dev/test production implementationsKnowledge of UK Mortgage processing or of the Summit mortgage processing application would also be an advantage but not essential.Experience of APEX application development would be desirable.The successful candidate will be equally confident in providing advice and guidance at a high-level to Project Managers and Team Leaders and at a technical level to individual developers. As well as the ability to liaise at all levels with Production Application Support and third-party service providers.
