Lead and develop a team of interconnect engineers in support of achieving targets in the design, implementation, and commissioning of CRAN and other transport architectures.Work with RF and Transport Planning teams to select, secure, engineer, and prep CRAN Hub locations.Deliver transport solutions for Macro, Small Cell, and In Building/Venue to meet Sub-Markets yearly build plan.Work with OEM Vendors, 3rd party DF/Lit providers, and internal teams to identify the best Value (quality, time, and cost).Work with VZB and the One Fiber team to deliver all solutions in a timely manner.Implement MW solutions including Emergency/Temp solutions.Implement transport plannings network plan- ensure circuit growth is not delayed.Work with West territory and headquarters transport staff to develop new technology transport design and equipment standards for deployment.Provide a roadmap and guidelines for products, features, and hardware configurations to ensure technologically superior, operationally efficient and cost effective growth and new deployment of systems.Lead, develop and manage, on an ongoing basis, regional-level capital and expense budgets relating to interconnect, backhaul, technology evolution and related projects in conjunction with Sub-Market Engineering, Planning teams and Headquarters Planning.Proactively manage the progress of regional expense reduction initiatives, including verification via invoice reporting.Develop engineering, system performance, and operations policies and procedures.

Youll need to have:
Bachelors degree in Telecommunications or Engineering or four or more years of work experience.Six or more years of relevant work experience.Valid drivers license.Willingness to travel.

A degree.Five or more years of experience in telecommunications transport engineering. Switch Engineering experience.Demonstrated knowledge in the following platforms and/or technologies: Telecom experience including: CRAN, Optical Networks, DWDM/CWDM, Cell site routers.Knowledge of data communications including data network design, routers, switches, hubs, Ethernet, TCP/IP, MPLS.CCNA certification.Experience with the Telcordia Granite Inventory (formerly Xpercom/Xng) circuit inventory system.Experience engineering and implementing multiple node optical networks including one or more of the following optical equipment vendors: Alcatel-Lucent, Nortel, Cisco, Fujitsu, and Tellabs.Experience with SevOne traffic data collection system or another traffic statistics reporting package.Experience with Navis INC and ALU 5620 SAM network management systems.Knowledge of office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.Excellent analytic, troubleshooting, interpersonal, decision making and communication skills.Ability to balance technical and business requirements.Organizational and planning skills (setting and communicating priorities; anticipating workload impact on resources of both self and team; delegating where appropriate; consistently following up on outstanding items; and providing focus in meetings and discussions).Strong leadership skills.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and maintain performance level.Flexibility and creativity (seeks out and attempts alternate solutions to resolve issues, and seamlessly adjusts to a dynamic, changing business environment).Experience in contract negotiations.Experience with cost analysis including NPV & development of business cases for leased vs. owned fixed network systems.
