Position
Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist provides appropriate and efficient evaluations, treatments, and associated speech therapy services as well as participates and supports Rehab program development.
position Expectations and Responsibilities: Learn computer program related to the type of work in the department, including Patient Care Manager, Physicians portal, PHS, Star Navigator.
Demonstrate knowledge regarding evaluation and treatment of articulation,language, cognition, memory, voice, fluency, feeding /swallowing, oral motor, social communication and alternative augmentative communication.
Perform and interpret clinical bedside swallow evaluations, videoesophagrams (VEG), videostroboscopic evaluations.
Demonstrate knowledge regarding the effective use of therapy equipment.
Provide timely and appropriate evaluations and treatments in compliance with department policy and standards of practice.
Complete appropriate and required documentation in compliance with department policy.
Participate in relevant meetings in a contributory manner and is consistent with the pursuit of quality patient care.
Assist in all other department functions on a daily basis and completes these tasks within department deadlines.
Participate in and support departmental program development.
Coordinate and mentor student interns.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and coworkers in a professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications Masters degree from four-year college or university for Speech-Language Pathology.
Florida SLP License, BLS from the American Heart Association, Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or equivalency Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.
The person in this position will work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
In the spirit of wellness for both our employees and patients, Boca Raton Regional Hospital has instituted a mandatory influenza prevention vaccination program.
Current employees must receive the influenza prevention vaccination free of charge during the recognized flu season.
As a condition of employment, new hires will be required to comply with all program rules.
This is a mandatory program with the exception of documented medical or religious reasons for not receiving the vaccine.
