Transactions are processed on behalf of thousands of merchants, including Amazon.in. We are looking for a leader who has strong capabilities in Handling large Operations in an outsourced environment, possesses a deep understanding of risks associated with merchant business in India, has an ability to work with multiple externaland internal partners and manage complex projects from concept to Delivery including working with technology.
He/she should be able to partner with multiple external & internal partner teams & should have experience in solving critical customer impacting programs. The role is expected to lead multiple partner operations programs to support business needs. The leader will also own other programs like LPA merchant on-boarding that will call for end to end ownership on KYC program for Amazon Pay Merchants and driving operational excellence for operations with Six-sigma and ISO methodologies. The role will lead setting up of Business On-boarding program to support Amazon Pay Merchants. He/she will work with stakeholders across internal (Tech, Product/Categories, Legal, Infosec, Risk & Compliance) & external teams (vendors, partners) to setup processes, resolve business problems and customer escalations. Individual will be required not only to streamline existing processes but also implement requirements to support launch of new businesses/products/features by Amazon Payments & Business teams.
The role also requires the candidate toconceptualise and implement a robust merchant risk management framework to protect Amazon Pay against these risks.
The role demands:
Have a strong understanding or Merchant risks, settlement mechanisms, regulations and market dynamics of the merchant business
Have an entrepreneurial spirit with strong background (8+ years) in ecommerce, payment institutions and a successful track record of client management or business development.
Be comfortable with hands-on day-to-day problem solving, implementing quick and effective action plans to meet short term priorities.
Have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly.
Lead multiple cross functional and cross geographic programs. Work with technology, compliance, legal, operations and risk teams globally.
Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented. Proven ability to influence others
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. He or she must be a fast learner, who can quickly absorb the nuances of Amazons varied payment offerings as well as the behaviour of Amazons internal systems. The candidate must have superior verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting issues to management. This position is expected to have sufficient operations & program management experience., Should have a Master s in Business Administration from a reputed institution.
Should have at least 8 years of industry experience preferably in handling merchant operations, Onboarding domain
Have a string understanding of technical requirements of merchant on-boarding including KYC, Merchant setup across associations and processors etc
Should have experience in managing 3P partners & large customer impacting programs
Stong understanding of Merchant Risk and containment options
Experience working in a fast paced environment similar to a high tech start-ups.
Experience and ability to work across time-zones and with remote locations.
Ability to carry out complex analyses, synthesise data with superior attention to detail and provide policy & process improvements.
Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams. Ability to communicate and work with a wide range of cross functional groups and Senior Management is a must. MBA from a premier Institute
Familiarity and working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
Ability to reengineer processes to achieve scale and better customer experience
Understanding of Operational Risk
