Typical job functions for the Systems Engineer I include participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques and tools to plan, design, develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions. Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, flight test, and field support. You will work and learn in an engineering organization with the highest software engineering process maturity level as recognized by the Systems Engineering Institute. The candidate will work with experienced developers in our Anaheim Hills office for the protection of our country. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions: This position can be a Salary Grade of G04, G05 or NUG based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. G04 (College Junior by Fall 2020) - must have completed 60 hours of college G05 (College Senior by Fall 2020) - must have completed 90 hours of college NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2020) - must have an undergraduate degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program This is a part time position, up to 20 hours per week. Required Skills: Experience in C/C++ Working knowledge of Linux or Unix 2 years systems development experience (ie internship, co-op, team based projects, etc.) Experience with Object Oriented Design and Development Experience with multi-threaded code Experience verifying and validating the software and system work as intended Experience working both in a team environment and individually Experience developing, coding, testing, and debugging complex algorithms This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Desired Skills: Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases Exposure to Communications Systems and theory and Signal Processing concepts Experience with Object Oriented Design and Development Experience with Configuration Management tools, such as git Experience with Scripting languages such as Python and Perl Experience with UI development Experience with Qt Experience and/or knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP Experience with or basic understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and/or signal processing Experience with system-level integration and testing, specifically, the integration of advanced, custom processing systems, testbeds, and software Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying) Required Education (including major): Currently pursuing a BS/BA degree from a four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior year OR pursuing a MS/MA/PhD by Fall 2020. Must be working towards a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent technical discipline.
