We have a new opportunity for a highly motivated and industry provenProduct Conformance Engineer. The successful candidate will be working within the verification department of a leading global technology manufacturer operating in over 30 countries. Focusing on the mandatory conformance and fit for purpose testing, the role is responsible for ensuring their radio equipment excels against their customers demanding requirements.
As a Senior Product Conformance Engineer you will support the development of their products by identifying and interpreting regulatory requirements for the worldwide sale. You will devise testing regimes and develop plans to test products ensuring that both mandatory conformance and product requirements are tested effectively and efficiently. Working with Project Management and Technical Leads you will prioritise testing ideas. Using a combination of internal testing and third parties you will carry out tests in line with project timescales, helping in the resolution of issues as and when they arise.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out conformance testing to the relevant standards both onsite and at external test houses The analysis on conformance ATE results, evaluating issues and raising them with the relevant development teamsMaintaining accurate records of all the testing and processes building a test history library Assisting with the planning and estimation for all approvals and conformance tasksThe creation of regular and ad-hoc reports for managersLiaising with external test houses planning test sessions and carrying out testingMaintaining company D.o.CsAnalysing, understanding and interpreting new approval standards and processes
Skills, knowledge and Experience required:
You must have significant experience in product approvals and conformance testing. This will ideally include conformance related skills in the approvals for radio products such as PMR (Private Mobile Radio), TETRA, DMR, LTE, GSM CDMA (3G & 2G) GNSS, Ethernet, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Be skilled in the interpretation, understanding, and use of: The RED (previously R&TTE) directive including all the requirements needed to cover all company productsThe CE marking requirements with relation to company productsThe legal requirements in regard to Company D.o.CsIP and Environmental certificationsWEEE, RoHS and REACH Directives and Certificates RF test measurements and systems including the use of Network Analysers, Spectrum Analysers, Power Meters, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes etc. Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
