Business Initiative/Purpose:
Support the enterprise in engineering, integration, and on-going support of technologies and processes used to ensure the security of sensitive data across a broad spectrum of platforms. Technology areas related to data security, encryption, tokenization and key management.

Initial/Primary Project Names: Cryptographic Services, Encryption

Project Team Size/Makeup: Team has 8 members with 2 - 3 different roles on team.

Responsibilities:
Serve as an SME for database security, encryption and key management technologies. Maintain a thorough understanding of related standards and best practices;
Provide engineering, implementation and support for database security, encryption, and key management technologies and platforms;
Work with DBAs, data owners and application teams to utilize cryptographic data security methods such as encryption, tokenization, and data masking to minimize the exposure of sensitive data elements;
Research and testing of new technologies related to data security methods;
Through research, training, and participation in professional organizations, maintain expert knowledge and skills required to maintain strict adherence to data privacy and security;
Assist with the development, documentation, and execution of support plans for assigned technologies and processes.
Implement and support encryption standards and best practices

MUST HAVE- Skills/Prior Experience:
Experience implementing, configuring, or supporting encryption and data security solutions including or similar to:
Thales/Vormetric, Protegrity, Gemalto/Safenet, IBM Security Guardium;
Familiar with SQL security techniques such as data encryption, to include native Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and third party solutions;
Database administration experience and experience protecting database environments, including Oracle, DB2 or MS-SQL;
Working knowledge of cryptography, encryption, related algorithms and protocols;
Experience with application encryption and/or tokenization technologies and solutions

PLUS/NICE TO HAVE - Skills/Prior Experience:
Experience with the Windows and UNIX operating environment as an administrator or power user;
Experience with leading implementation teams or hands-on implementation of encryption solutions for structured and unstructured data;
Knowledge of cryptographic related standards, security concepts, encryption keys, key life cycle requirements and symmetric and asymmetric encryption methodologies;
Working knowledge of open source encryption technologies used to ensure integrity and confidentiality;
Knowledge of one or more programming/script languages with proficiency in development of systems or process automation.
Experience working for a large financial services company is a plus.
Knowledge of financial services industry applicable regulations and industry standards relevant to data security (PCI DSS, SOX, NYDFS, GLBA, FISMA)
