Responsibilities

The Dierctor of Insurance & Cash Applications plans, coordinates, and directs the Cash Applications department.

Develops and implements policy designed to expedite cash flow, streamline processes pertaining to referral working, and resolution of accounts.

Assures compliance with existing policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.

Develops and implements budget, taking care to operate within budget constraints.

Works on space allocation and configuration.

Also interviews, hires, counsels, and when necessary terminates employees as circumstances demand.

Must be a diplomat, speaker, trainer, motivator, coach, and cheerleader.

Assists with Revenue Cycle tasks and requests, as needed and other duties as assigned.



Job Requirements:

Required Minimum Education: Bachelor Degree. (in a related field is preferred)

Required Minimum Experience

5 years in Patient Financial Services.

Progressive leadership including manager/supervisor level responsibility in a complex healthcare organization.

Must have a thorough understanding of healthcare revenue cycle functions, operations, and collection control points.

Experience in performance improvement and change management.

Understanding of both Hospital and Professional revenue cycle patient billing/operational practices

Project Management and Operational Performance Management

Functional Knowledge of the FDCPA, TCPA and HIPAA

Knowledge of and experience in using Epic is a plus

Knowledge of state and federal regulations as they per to patient billing processes and procedures

Knowledge of insurance claim processing and third party reimbursement

Strong interpersonal, analytical, computer, problem solving and writing skills, with a 'take charge' attitude

Must be comfortable interacting with physicians and senior management

Exceptional interpersonal skills for written, verbal, presentation, and computer communication required

Knowledge and detailed understanding of all negotiated agreements

Knowledge of the principles of Information Systems in order to effectively analyze and make decisions

Skill in good oral, written, and interpersonal communication

Skill in problem solving in a variety of settings

Ability to work efficiently under pressure

Ability to operate a computer and related applications

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Excel

Ability to apply appropriate supervisory, management and leadership techniques in an operational setting

Ability to demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and to operationalize that learning

Ability to deal effectively with constant changes and be a change agent

Must be familiar with the general functioning of hospital patient accounting systems and with electronic claims processing and editing systems
