Description
The Network Security Engineer (NSE) installs and maintans the products and components of the SOC product portfolio to include: Firewall, IPS/IDS systems, VPN Concenctrators and SIEM Tools. The NSE is responsible for consulting with customers and design engineers on customized security solutions. The NSE also implements and troubleshoots customer deployments and the systems they ride.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform analysis of customer network security needs and contributes to design, integration, and installation of hardware, software and policy configurations.

Administer perimeter security systems such as firewalls, VPNs as well as customer SIEM solutions.

Assist customer during activation of security program.

Maintain knowledge of current security best practices and works with the organization to implement those that will protect the networks and data, and maintain its security environment.

Work with Network (and System) Administrators to ensure system uptime and support levels are upheld.

Participate in development of processes and documentation for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), threat assessment, incident response and containment.

Perform all other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field; equivalent work experience, certification or a combination thereof

Experience: 3 years of experience with data communications and information security administration and compliance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Fortinet NSE 4 or higher

CCNA/P Security

CompTIA Security+ certification

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Key Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with Internet and Microsoft Office applications to include, but not limited to: Word and Excel

Must be detail oriented with good organizational and time management skills

Must have effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management, and team members to ensure customer satisfaction

Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time sensitive issues and mandated deadlines

Must be analytical and have proven problem solving abilities
