Containers and open source technology are redefining how our customers are building, deploying, and running their applications. Technical writers in the AWS containers organization play a key role in helping our customers to get started quickly, and ensures that the technical details of AWS products and open source tools are clearly described and easier to understand.

We're looking for a technical writer with a passion for open source software and a working knowledge of Kubernetes and related open source technologies. In this role, you'll work directly with software developers, product managers, and designers to create best-in-class developer documentation for the Kubernetes project, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, and related open source projects.

Key Responsibilities:
* Test new open source projects and features, learn how they work, and document them in crisp, easy-to- follow language.
* Contribute to open source documentation for Kubernetes and related open source projects
* Write crisp, clear documentation for Amazon open source projects such as the Amazon VPC CNI for Kubernetes.
* Work with developers and product managers to ensure that content is technically accurate and written for the appropriate audience.
* Edit blog posts and internal project plans.
* Become a Kubernetes expert.

Basic Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 years as a technical writer in a relevant field
* Experience creating documentation for a developer audience
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* A degree in computer science, English, technical writing, or a related field
* Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containers
* Comfortable at the Unix command line
* Familiarity with open source community interactions
