Project initiatives: This is supporting the modernization of our client's Global Payment Platform (Graphite), which is a key critical platform in their wholesale Global Payment Strategy. Our client has a 5 year plan ahead to understand what stability looks like. * Graphite Platform-This is the platform built to drive our client's Real Time payment strategy. We built the initial team to support this platform and are continuing to grow this in 2020. Graphite is an integrated platform for payments and was built to replace a previously fragmented infrastructure. The initial build started in 2017 and today it spans to global markets. Our client is moving existing volume of payments on to the platform and will be moving all future payment volume on to the new platform as well. The platform itself is a modernization effort and will continue to grow over the next 5 years. This is truly the platform of the future for our client in which all payments will be integrated on. * Current state: o Putting first real volume of existing payments on now and will then move future payment volume on to platform o Plan to increase scalability of number of people who have access to architecture
* E-Wallet- Our client developed an eWallet product for tech companies like Airbnb, Lyft and Amazon designed to help them provide customers with virtual bank accounts. Tech companies benefit by avoiding payment processing fees to 3rd party vendors whenever customers use their virtual accounts for payments and our client benefits by being the sole payment processing and cash movement firm for tech companies that offer eWallet to their customers. o (use city of Chicago parking example- when you pay tickets you don't need to make an acct. You go to city of Chicago, put in your ticket #, put in your credit card information and you're done. The information you input is reference data for our client to utilize for your payment history and create a Virtual Account for you- how many tickets have you had? Do you pay them on time? Does your card ever bounce? Etc..
* Strategic Reference Data- All data we need to look up, verify, validate and have references for things for client. The payment capturing is a huge component of this (payments, invoicing, etc..) When the Core Cash Management Platform merged with Graphite, each of them had their own reference data. They're building out a new platform to unify the reference data from both CCMP and Grapite.
* VAM- Virtual Acct Management- has to do with payments- All different types of payments and all different types of data per customers of their clients. (ie..City of Chicago example again)
Skills: * Excellent Core Java (version 8) with knowledge of Java 1.8 features * Java Frameworks ie Spring; Hibernate * Spring Boot * RESTful microservices * No-SQL database technologies; preferably Apache Cassandra * Log Management with Splunk or ELK * Apache Tomcat * Experience working with a Distributed Cache (Gemfire, Hazel, Memcache) * Multi-threaded Programming and Transaction Handling (JMS, Database) * Source code control software (eg Git, subversion), * Google Protocol buffers or similar binary message transport * Experience working on high throughput mission critical high performance platforms which have low error rates * Some RDBMS experience exposure Desirable:
* Cloud foundry or Amazon AWS experience * Experience with Micro Services, Service Orientated Architectures * Track record delivering in Investment Bank Environment * MQ/JMS * Cucumber * Selenium * Jenkins * Functional Programming Languages such as Groovy
