Note: This role offers temporary work from home/remote/virtual work due to COVID-19. Eventually the work will go back on site 100% in Cary, NC once the COVID-19 threat has passed.


SAIC has a career opening for a System Administrator Senior/Web Services in Cary, North Carolina.

The System Administrator Senior is responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining physical/virtual Microsoft based Servers in support of business processing requirements. Installs, upgrades, and patches operating systems and complex software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Conducts routine software audits of Microsoft based Servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Manages and administers knowledge base and collaboration repositories (eg, Guard Knowledge Online, SharePoint, Business Intelligence (BI), dashboards and portals), subscriptions and information, and assists with developing and implementing content management framework. Must be a self-starter; capable of working independently, under limited direction, and in a team environment.


The successful candidate must be able to do the following:

Design, create and maintain operational run books. Maintain and manage document libraries and repositories. Plan, design, build, test, implement and maintain software and hardware solutions for managing document and information repositories and websites. Design, create and maintain templates to be used for documenting operational tasks and infrastructure architecture. Maintain and manage content databases, repositories, software tools and web portals. Operate, monitor and maintain content management tools (such as data-analysis and collaboration tools eg, SharePoint Portal). Customize and administer content management tools which include digital and non-digital tools (ie, rehearsals and rock drills, sand tables, storytelling, hot washes, map and white boards). Provide consulting services for documenting new services, processes, functions and procedures and assessing documentation quality. Coordinate activities to ensure information is appropriately secured, current and available in the case of a disaster. Support service availability improvements by proactively identifying where information (ie, lessons learned, historical documentation) can improve availability, reduce outage times or labor costs. Fix incidents/problems and liaise with product vendors for problem resolution. Remove, archive and decommission documentation and content no longer needed. Perform content management by providing assessment on how products are created, stored and used to include update, delete, and archive content, content format (structured or unstructured), and file types as directed by the Government. Use content management processes, procedures, and systems to manage work flow in a collaborative environment using a G-6 standardized digital systems or software.



High School diploma and 9+ years of related experience; OR Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of rel ated experience, or 5+ years as a Systems Administrator (Microsoft). Experience maintaining Microsoft's Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS services Experience maintaining Microsoft Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 platforms Level II DoD 8570 certification: CompTIA Security+ CE, etc Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance Must be able to obtain ITIL Foundation Certification (required within 60 days of hire)
