Polaris Alpha Advanced Systems (a Parsons Company) is seeking a Jr/Mid? Software Systems Engineer that will be responsible for systems architecture, requirements and design for DoD systems. Ideal candidates will have a broad set of technical and domain skills and must be able to successfully work both individually and with a team. Job duties include:
Develop and maintain an integrated architecture for a portfolio of systems. Standardize interfaces and protocols, so that the individual systems in the portfolio can connect, share information, and provide greater value.Provide the Enterprise Systems Engineering capability for the Portfolio.Review, develop, and document system level operational concepts and mission statements.Research and develop complex systems designs and architectures.Prepare and review documentation for systems designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures.Verify and validate aspects of systems designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.Produce and/or review technical documents, specifications and standards.Develop structural and behavioral UML diagrams.Interface with internal and external organizations.Consult with engineering staff, project managers, data processing staff and customers.Operate often on-site, co-located with customer points of contact.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited educational institution.3-5 years performing hardware/software systems engineering activities.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance.Systems Modeling Language (SysML)Model Based Systems EngineeringStrong communication and writing skills with the ability to create technical documentation. Much of the development activity will come from interviews with customer points of contact.Strong problem-solving skills.Requirements and Verification Development.Unified Modeling Language (UML)Experience with Government standards and procedures for example DODAF Operational Views, System Views and Capability ViewsDemonstrated ability to work and communicate well in a remote work environment.MagicDraw, Enterprise Architect, Rational Rose or similar experience for modeling and architecture. MagicDraw will be used in this position.Ability to work individually and with a team.Willing to travel up to 10%.
