We're looking for an Agile Product Owner (APO) to help build features and applications for NoveList, a division of EBSCO Information Services (EIS), located in Durham, N.C. At NoveList, we believe that books and libraries have the power to transform lives, and we develop innovative solutions for libraries that support them in helping readers and engaging their communities. As a member of a very small product team, you will wear many hats, including taking an active role in amplifying the voice of end-users and the product line strategy to your development team.

What You'll Do

Work with product management and a development team to deliver features and services that solve customer problems

Develop and maintain productive relationships with development and business stakeholders to ensure timely software feature delivery and defect resolution

Guide the team through user story writing, refinement, estimates, and sequencing to maximize value for users and the organization

Assist the team in determining and meeting their objectives for sprints and program increments

Lead user acceptance testing for all new features and be responsible for final approval of features before acceptance into production

Act as a user experience (UX) and user interaction (UI) lead for our products, developing mockups, wireframes, user flow diagrams, and other deliverables as needed

Proactively communicate release details, progress, decisions, impediments, and risks

Drive team sprint demos

Promote continuous improvement within the development team and organization

Know our products deeply and contribute a genuine passion and enthusiasm for our mission

Skills Or Experience You Need

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

2+ years working as a business analyst or in product management (preferably as a product owner)

Skills Or Experience That Sets You Apart

Experience with SAFe, Lean, and Agile software development

Experience with Behavior-Driven Development user stories and acceptance criteria

Experience in the information industry, libraries, or library technology platforms
