The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Information Technology Division is seeking Information Technology Analyst I applicants responsible for the IT Helpdesk. The successful candidates should have a broad based knowledge of PC's, printers, networks and mobile devices. The candidates should have extensive experience troubleshooting current Microsoft Windows-based systems and the ability to diagnose hardware issues. Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to providing phone support, documenting technical calls in a Remedy call tracking system and providing timely resolutions to software and hardware problems over the phone and through the use of remote control software.
The candidates must have excellent customer service skills, communication and written skills, attention to detail, troubleshooting skills and good judgment are necessary. Experience with the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Remedy Service Management suite experience is preferred.
The preferred candidates will possess the following experience in the specific functional area of Technical Help/Service Desk Analysis: Responds to calls, emails and personal requests for routine technical support; assigns, tracks, and monitors status of new and existing issues using appropriate software as necessary; acts as liaison between other technical staff, users and vendors regarding Technical Help/Service Desk requests; monitors personal computer (PC) performance.
Starting salary $75,727.00 - plus State of Connecticut benefits.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING General Experience: Four (4) years of experience in information technology (IT), programming, systems/software development or another IT related field with a concentration in the specific area of the position being applied for.
Substitutions Allowed: 1) College training in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering or related area may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling six (6) months of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
2) A Master's degree in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering or related area may be substituted for the General Experience.
3) Relevant certification in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering, project management or related area may be substituted for up to six (6) months of the general experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Incumbents may be required to travel within the State in the course of their daily work.
