Position Summary:

Plans, develops, and conducts tests on electronic components, products, and systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

GMW 3172 Environmental/Durability requirements and Analysis/Development/Validation (A/D/V) activities for E/E components that are used in a vehicle environment to ensure reliability over a life time.

Good understanding of Industry standard system tests for Active safety and Passive safety Electronics Utilize customer requirements and industry standards to develop test plans Interpret technical specifications, electrical schematics and block diagrams Good knowledge of CAN and LIN communication protocol Complete all customer subject system test activities during planning and execution phase Instruct supporting Engineers and Test Technicians in proper setup and execute subject and failure analysis tests Prepare detailed customer test reports documenting product test data with pass/fail criteria, scope plots and equipment details Report all non-conformances to the appropriate System Design Teams Support customer requests for information/test reports and assure timely and accurate completion of all action items

Required Skills:

Knowledge of system testing methodology, e.g., regression tests, environmental tests, EMC tests mechanical tests, user tests, etc. Ability to use of the specific testing tools used in the assigned project (e.g. test bench software) Ability to use test management tools and the Issue Management System Technical knowledge of the relevant development disciplines (software, hardware, and mechanical engineering) Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Systems Engineering 3-5+ years experience in automotive electronics vehicle level testing There are no specific certification requirements for this position Experience with developing/executing/documenting customer specific System Tests Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to a wide range of external customers Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAN/LIN tools and data acquisition tools.
