Client is looking for a highly motivated Linux Systems Engineer that will be responsible for the engineering, implementation, and operations of information systems for on-prem, hosted and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Linux OS and practical knowledge of DevOps Automation toolsets and programming languages. This candidate should have the experience and ability to collaborate with various business units to provide consultation and support on-prem hardware and cloud solutions with a focus on best practices and security. This role will be expected to investigate and engineer new technologies focused on automation to enhance and secure both on-prem and cloud platforms fostering agility to the business. Key Responsibilities include: Utilize continuous integration and automation tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, Python, YAML, JSON, PowerShell, Bash, CloudFormation, and Terraform. Leverage in-depth knowledge of various Operating System core componentsLinux, working knowledge of Window OS Manages the automated configuration and deployment of Operating Systems for both on-premise and Cloud. Manage the configuration and deployment of cloud services such as EC2, VPC, S3, ECS, RDS, Lambda, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, and Resource Groups. Use of cloud native AWS security tools such as Systems Manager, Config, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and IAM. Reviews of architectural diagrams for proposed solutions and implements the standard cloud or on prem services based on compute, data, or security requirements. Develops scripts for automating client/server functions. A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks). Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support the engineering and implementation of new cloud applications or solutions. Provides third level support to operational teams to ensure Incident and Problem Management is a mechanism that feeds continuous improvement Assists development teams with proof-of-concept cloud services and implementations. Collaborates with the architecture team on strategy. Adheres to corporate standards regarding applicable corporate and divisional policies. Qualifications
Linux Certifications like RedHat Certified Engineer or ArchitectAWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Associate, AWS Certified Cloud PractitionerGoogle Professional Collaboration Engineer Experience and Skills: Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and 5-10 years of experience of IT Experience Minimum 5 years of coding experience with at least Python, YAML, JSON, Bash and Powershell Minimum 3 of experience in designing, executing, and supporting cloud services and environments such as AWS. Azure experience a plus. Minimum 3 years of experience with CI/CD tooling and automation utilizing GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, Cloud Formation, Terraform or similar. Proven implementation of creative technology solutions that advance the business. Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work. Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends. Has participated in the design, implementation, and migration of applications to a cloud environment. Recent work experience health care/life science organization is a plus. Experience in the systems development, implementation, and operations of a large-scale, enterprise systems. Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively lead and facilitate meetings with customers and technical team members. Must be deliverables focused and detail oriented. Must exhibit exceptional teamwork skills. Must have a strong customer focus.
