NIC Arkansas is currently looking for an experienced Web Designer to join our team.

Acquired by Tyler Technologies (NYSE: TYL) on April 21, 2021, NIC is a leader in digital government solutions and payments, partnering with government to deliver user-friendly digital services that make it easier and more efficient to interact with government. We are looking for a web designer who will be responsible for creating amazing websites for our partners. You will be involved in conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for partner websites and applications, as well as creating visual elements that are in line with our partners branding and objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will need to use your excellent visual design skills to contribute to our mission of connecting citizens to government in more unique and effective ways through technology.

Most of our team is located in the Little Rock, AR area, but we are currently working 100% remote.

What Will You Be Doing?

You will provide creative concepts and ideas that will expand the utilization of new and existing technologies. Additionally, you will be part of a creative team, responsible for both enhancing existing and developing new websites and applications.

If you are passionate about design, advancing existing and new websites and applications, solving complex problems, and driving issues to resolution, then you are a perfect fit for this role.

You will be meeting with partners, wireframing, designing user interfaces, writing clean semantic code, and working with product managers and programmers on a regular basis to ensure successful launch of new products and enhancements to existing products.

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptualizing creative ideas with partners.Testing and improving the design of websites and applications.Establishing design guidelines, standards, and best practices.Designing visual imagery for websites and ensuring that they are in line with branding for partners.Working with different content management systems.Communicating design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps, and wireframesIncorporating functionalities and features into websites.Designing sample pages including colors and fonts.Preparing design plans and presenting the website structure.


Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other visual design tools.Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript.Good understanding of content management systems.Good understanding of search engine optimization principles.Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.Excellent visual design skills.Creative and open to new ideas.Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.Excellent communication skills.
