Its a 6 month contract to hire

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical projects and systems.

2. Define the nature and objective of the system or system improvements to be developed.

3. Resolve highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.

4. Prepare program specifications for assigned projects.

5. Lead the formulation and review of plans outlining steps required to develop programs to meet staff and user requirements.

6. Executing, Coding, de-bugging and documenting programs.

7. Monitor the performance of applications and process after implementation to insure optimum execution of solutions.

8. Perform other duties to assign.

MINIMAL EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. or B.A. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Five (5) years demonstrated work experience.

Must be able to create, enhance, and maintain Cognos Framework Manager models and work with business users to design and create reports usingReportStudio with data drill-down capability.

Experience and technical knowledge of Cognos Administration, Event Studio, Analysis Studio, and Dynamic Cubes.

Experience managing report security, folder security, database row level security, and report schedules.

Experience in the use of ETL processes, query tools, data visualizations, interactive dashboards, ad hoc reporting, and data modeling to build Cognos BI reporting and analytics.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools Cognos and Tableau, or other tools such as Qlik or Power BI.

Must be experienced in programming and in applying knowledge of programming or scripting languages.

Strong SQL, PUSQL development skills

Java, VB, HTML, .NET development skills.

Experience with Integration tools, SQR report tools, and SQL Scripting and Query.

Experience working with MSSQL Server and Oracle 12g Server and databases.

Experience working on a variety of software development projects.

Experience with developing integrations between business systems is desirable.

Working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as it relates to the software development lifecycle and familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Knowledge or Experience in the Utility Industry is a plus.

Proficient in MS Office, SharePoint, and Visio
