TITLE: Windows Application Support Engineer

DURATION: 6-month contract-to-hire

LOCATION: REMOTE but for candidates in Atlanta, GA 30324 area only. (Candidates will report to office 1-2

days per week)

Job Description/Requirements/Overview:

Required Experience: 10+ years managing Windows Server technologies including Failover Clustering, Enterprise

systems management (Landesk, Altiris, SCCM, etc), IIS advanced configuration and troubleshooting. 5+ years supporting

other enterprise level applications and/or middleware. Working knowledge Virtualization and Storage (SANs and Disk

Subsystems) technologies, Microsoft SQL Server administration helpful.

Other Qualifications:

Ability to design, engineer, document, and implement distributed enterprise server environments.Extensive knowledge of Windows Operating system security.Experience with virus defense systems and backup and recovery solutions.Knowledge of IP, VPN, Ethernet, and other LAN technologies.Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to read, analyze and interpret

general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure/support manuals.Ability to define problems and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, engineer, document, and implement distributed enterprise server environments as well as cross training

support technicians on new technologies implemented.

Successfully work with Executives, Project Managers, System Administrators, Network Engineers, Developers,

Business Analysts, System Testers, Desktop Support Technicians, and end users in the implementation of small

and large IT solutions.

Work closely with developers to promote code from development environments, test environments and through to

production environment.

Learn quickly and show initiative when needed to implement new technologies and when resolving difficult

support issues.

Manage multiple projects and initiatives with minimal guidance or supervision.Manage and support Windows Server Environment.Performing ticket resolution using RemedyImplementing, configuring and supporting Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers (including maintaining all

server documentation)

Performs enterprise systems management for data center also includes some support for desktop environments.Diagnosing and correcting hardware and software problems; performance capacity and providing technical

support to end-users.

Manage changes and compliance using Remedy Event Management.Perform application support as necessary.Assist/mentor lower tier personnel with troubleshooting.Deploy and configure applications as delivered by Application DevelopmentTrack and manage all components of an operational application ensuring all components are documented and

what is needed for reliable operation is clearly understood and monitored, this includes application interfaces and

data movements.

Facilitate and/or lead planning for upgrades as needed for end-of-life componentsDiagnose and resolve complex level-3 technical support issues that involve the application environment or

application components that are not functioning

Perform operational support tasks such as monitoring and performance tuning
