Role Description - Summary

CDO Overview

Deutsche Banks CDO function sits in the newly formed Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) division, and reports into Bernd Leukert at the MB level. With respect to data management, CDO has the mandate for:

Data governance
Definition and implementation of the Group Data Policy
Records management, archiving, and disposal
Data execution
Reference data (strategy, architecture, provision and adoption)
Data Operations (front-to-back DQ processesacross CCO data flows, DQ Direct, Ref Data)
Execution tracking and quality assuranceacross Strategic Data Mgmt Program the above

CDO works closely with divisional and infrastructure teams to define the banks data strategy and action plans (e.g. reference data, front to back data delivery via CCO, data controls and DQ monitoring, AI analytics).

CCO DQM Operations and Analytics Team

CCO DQM is a newly created team that will initially reside in the Group Chief Data Office. The team will evolve and change over time as analysis, definition, design and delivery of the required control framework and processes may happen. The size of the team will also evolve into a team of 70 RTB exception management resources and data analytics SMEs. The team will also work closely with CDOs Data Insights team to develop and automate the key DQ analytics and remediation capabilities and also technology teams for the build out of CCO DQ services and functionality for exception and correction management workflow. The team has enterprise-wide ownership for the following:

Definition the end-to-end DQ management framework and accountabilities across:
EoD data flows going via CCO and EAP (end user: operational process leads)
Intra-day reference data flows - xRDS consumers (end user: operational process leads)
Monitoring of data contract KPI (end users: data councils + operational process leads)
Monthly DQ issue tracking via DQ Direct (end user: data councils)
Implementation of DQ exception management / remediation process and operations across the above
2020 focussupport acceleration of Risk Finance Treasury adoption of data from CCO -
An integrated DQ exception management operating model
Structural DQ issue at the master data source
Supporting SLAs with the data producers to remediate these issues
Leveraging existing processes as a starting point for the above
2021 / 22An integrated exception mgmt. / remediation process across all the above flows
Facilitate the Programme of pre adoption testing across population of strategic data protocols:
Test inbound data validations against CCO data
Reconcile CCO data to existing data in consumer processes to determine differences
Analyse results with producers and consumersobtain consumer sign off for controls
Update SDP models with sign off controls for CCO adoption of SDP schema
Configure CCO exception services (timeliness, completeness and business rules)
Enable One single Bank view of DQ reporting for the Divisions and Management Board
Covering the major data classes
Monthly reporting on DQ issues (back-log, closed, new) and burn down rate by producer
Manage the supporting tooling and input into data architecture
Existing tooling - DQ Direct (data councils), and CCO DQM service (operational users)
Additional tooling requirementsas they emerge

Responsibilities / Tasks

SDP Testing teamlead the Pune team to provide support on the adoption of data across the RFT via SDP testing, be transparent on the results and issues during testing stage to all stakeholders and coordinate with data producers, consumers to review, agree and improve existing SDP validation checks
Implementation and enhancement of controls - maintain an effective control environment by identifying risks and issues from SDP testing and RTB process on a timely basis, remediating identified issues from exceptions and data challenge process based on agreed SLA, collaborating with colleagues across the bank as required to close issues. Coordinate with data producers, consumers to review, agree and improve the SDP schema checks, business rules and key validations to capture DQ issues that are more relevant and material to downstream processes
Transition of exceptions management from SDP testing team to RTB DQM teamproductionize checks performed by SDP testing team with proper transition plan to support go live RTB processes
Continuous monitoring of allocation of resources and alignment based on prioritization of CCO delivery plan

Initial Deliverables

Build out of CCO DQM teamhiring and selection of new team members in association with London stream leads
Actively develop, motivate and coach the team to become SMEs, putting emphasis on both tangible contribution/results and the exemplification of our DB values.
Organise the resources into team to support the CCO DQM workstreams and leads
Support the design of exception management workflows and correction /adjustment protocol. CCO and ECM requirements tracking
Support the SDP testing of data schema validations, rules applied to inbound data (attributes, assertions, linkage), plausibility controls, data characteristics /changes through time, sense checks, and trend movement
Plan and execute the transition from testing program into continuous daily exception monitoring, EoD integrated exception call back list to producers and EoD fix at CCO

Experience / Exposure

VP level candidates with the following skillset:
Strong interest in Data, data analysis and data principles
Ability to structure and resolve issues in a live cadence within this framework
Setting up and implementing robust operational processes in the DB environment
Development and management of operational SLAs with process leads
Operationalisation and streamlining of our control environment
Analytical skillsmanipulating big data and creating reporting views e.g. QlikSense/Tableau other reporting tools
Strong people skills, particularly the ability to work with extended teams / partners across DB
Ability to work in an agile manner with teams within CDO and at the wider bank levels
Experience of DB data flows and systems a major advantage
