Description

Materials Market is the UK's first and only marketplace for building materials. As an early stage start-up that launched in November 2020, we have grown at an astonishing rate and have achieved serious traction in a very short space of time. We are pioneering a new approach to the sale of building materials; using cutting-edge marketplace technology to connect buyers and sellers in a transparent and competitive online space.

This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a fast-paced, innovative start-up that is right at the beginning of an exciting journey. We are looking for hard working, ambitious people to join us in shaping our product and leading our team to achieve ground-breaking results. In return we are offering a generous options package to share in the company's success, as well as all the support and resources needed to perform your role at the highest level.

About the role:

We're looking for our first tech hire; a senior, full-stack Ruby on Rails developer who is eager to build and manage an amazing team of developers. You will be engaged in the hiring process as we add three additional junior developers to our dev team. This is a huge opportunity and a role with significant autonomy.

Initial responsibilities will include overseeing our current agency dev team and leading the way as we transition to a full in-house team. As the first developer in the company, you will be an integral member of our ecosystem and will help us develop our company culture. Great responsibility deserves great rewards, so we are offering a significant options package to the right candidate. We want to share our success with you as we grow and continue to secure further funding rounds.

You will have the opportunity to learn and experiment with new technologies, help maintain our existing site and assist in building our app. You will help us develop our workflows and hone our product with additional features. We operate a flexible work environment. Our offices are in central London and team meetings, brainstorming sessions and other collaborative projects will require attendance in person. All development time can be home based.

We want to work with people who are passionate, curious and honest and if that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
