Roles and Responsibilities

Role & Responsibilities:

Primary region support for EU and work hours aligned to EU hours.

Provide in-depth support in the core infrastructure production services described above. Work as a whole team with members in diverse locations including Asiapac, Japan, Europe, and USA.

Ensure system availability and smooth operations, troubleshooting, incident investigation, emergency escalation, and root cause analysis.

Perform system administration tasks like software installation, configuration, software patching, system monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery drills.

Lead projects and work with senior managers, and assist tasks in project prioritization, allocating resources, budgeting and project deployment.

Work with Cross Platform Engineering team to deliver solutions. Help to define requirements from operational perspective, negotiate for schedules, drive and implement engineered solutions.

Carry out system changes by following the company policies and change management procedures, including requirement collection, proposing changes, impact assessment, testing in non-production environment, presentation in Change Management meetings, obtaining approvals, rolling out to production, and post-checking.

Understand, negotiate and respond to IT security, auditing, compliance and regulatory requirements. Make sure the systems and services are conforming to approved standards and requirements.

Manage vendor services on Core Services products, submit support cases and keep track the status, drive vendor to deliver solutions, fixes, and reports.

Interact with business and IT users to fulfill their day-to-day operations, inquiries, requests, and to keep the business running as usual.

Provide technical documentations of system architecture, operation procedures or run books.

Key Skills:


Strong support of experience of enterprise Level Redhat Linux 6.x , 7.x & 8.x, including OS patch cycle management and DevOps

Good experience of UNIX virtualization via VMWare

Good experience of how UNIX interact with enterprise level UNIX management : LDAP authentication, NFS, Ansible tower in DevOps

Good experience in both Veritas cluster and Native red hat clustering

A working experience in Sparc Solaris is an added advantage

Willing to work in the weekend and non-office hours, while compensation leave is allowed Good knowledge Shell (sh, ksh, bash), perl, python scripting skills.

Veritas file system configuration and management

Virtualization technologies - VMware/ vSphere Infra support which includes all support, installation, migration related tasks, ESX Upgrade, resource management, SRM, DRS etc. Conducting disaster recovery reviews and tests

Hardware knowledge

Know how to remote access HP DL380 hardware , Cisco UCS B200 series hardware , and Cisco S3260 hardware

HW maintenance coordination with Vendor and Datacenter teams

Know how to make use of Cisco B200/M4-M5 series hardware, in provisioning or inventory management

Know how to make change on ILO, how to apply firmware upgrade.

Know how Linux can attach to HDS SAN via HDLM for Linux,

Experience in how to provide remote support of Sun Sparc M4000 hardware, and Sparc T2000 hardware

Projects management - Server Upgrades, Migrations, decommission etc. and delivering new servers, firmware upgrades etc.

RH 5.x-8.x, Solaris9-10, Ansible Tower, Satellite

Private Cloud support for Unix Env


Single-sign-on - Forgerock OpenAM, SSO integration with Web Portals, Windows, Unix, and LDAP

Hardware Encryption appliance and Key management

DNS/DHCP - Alcatel-Lucent VitalQIP, ISC BIND, familiar with DHCP options NTP - NTP service on top of different OSes, Meiberg Time Server Appliance. Kerberos - Key based authentication, SSO integration

Password Vault Management, Cyberark

Good understanding of keep-state Firewalls, and Global/Local Load Balancers Good understanding of autosys

Ticket system and Asset DB experience: Snow/CMDB preferred
Min 6 to 8 Years.
