We are looking for an Ansys Customization Software Developer to fill an opening immediately available at PADT. The qualified candidate will have 1-3 years of experience developing extensions in the Ansys customization tool kit (ACT) and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Math or similar majors. The incumbent will be able to develop, create, customize and modify ACT extensions, analyze user needs and develop software solutions as well as customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing simulation throughput. A qualified candidate will be able to perform the following essential functions:
What you will do
Design, develop and modify ACT extensions using scientific analysis and mathematical models with a focus on improving client simulation throughput. Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications.
3 years or more Experience preforming mechanical simulations in Ansys Workbench environment. 1 year or more Experience developing ACT extensions for the Ansys Workbench environment Basic understanding of B-REP geometry concepts Proficient in Visual Studio Strong background in mathematics such as linear algebra and vector calculus Ability to decompose complex problems into a set of smaller tasks Familiarity with finite element simulation techniques Proficient in Ansys Mechanical and Ansys SpaceClaim Proficient in Python, XML, C#, Ansys APDL and Ansys ACT Experience Scripting workflows in either Ansys suite of tools or other tools
