We Are Hiring:

Load Balancer Architect

Location: Remote/Virtual

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities

* Technical solution design and delivery experience in large complex enterprise environments
* Strong knowledge of L4-L7 network protocols, and in-depth understanding of SDN solutions
* Knowledge of common networking components (Routing, Switching, Firewall, TCP/IP, etc.)
* Understanding of Public & Private cloud ecosystems (Ex: vMware, AWS, OpenStack etc)
* Hands on experience with design and delivery of complex virtual network solutions
* responsible for managing and designing our load balancer solutions.
* Responsible for the overall reliability of these infrastructure services supporting critical business applications.
* Design and implement the tools that automate building and operating reliable systems.
* Supporting a high-volume 24x7 production environment, as well as development and test environments.
* Maintaining a large number of instances and vips (dozens of load balancers, hundreds of vips, supporting thousands of backends),
* Write tools to automate routine and complex tasks, and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues.
* The position includes collaboration with development teams to design a scalable and supportable service-oriented architecture.
* This role will be expected to be a subject matter expert on load balancers, and help drive efforts to improve automation and tooling.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

* Provide expertise for Citrix ADC (Netscaler) and Vmware NSX ALB (Avi Networks)
* Proactively identify and address stability, capacity, and performance concerns
* Implement provisioning and deployment automation/IaC solutions
* Identify & implement solutions to other needs for process automation
* Support PCI/HIPAA/CIS20 security compliance requirements (upgrades, defect management, etc)
* Liaise with other teams (Networking, Data Center Ops, Security, etc) as required
* Respond to, recover from, and prevent future occurrences of failures & outages
* Participate in on-call and potentially some after-hours support as required
* Design systems using infrastructure as code practices.

Desired Qualifications

* Experience with networking protocols, especially BGP, DNS, TCP, HTTP, and TLS.
* You are comfortable, automating with market tools (Terraform, Ansible) or integrating systems using a high-level language (Go, Ruby or Python).
* You understand and have command of common load balancers, including F5s, NetScalers, AVI and public cloud.
* Experience with Global DNS Infrastructure (NS1, AWS Route 53), and CDN (Fastly or other CDNs)
* You are excited, not scared, by very high throughput levels
* You know when to deploy off-the-shelf solutions, and when something more bespoke might be required
* You have a fundamental need to learn and grow in your work every single day!

Nice-to-haves:

* Familiar with TCP routing in the public cloud, including edge and service Proxy technologies like AWS/Azure/GCP Load balancing/Networking

What You Will Need:

Education:

* High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Work Experience:

* 3 years of experience required.
* 5 years of experience preferred.
* 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred.
