As a cloud solutions architect, you will leverage Oracles rich technical offerings and collaborate with researchers at all levels to translate research questions into computational problems that can be explored and addressed using Oracle Cloud, helping to accelerate research time to results in significant ways.

Engage with member researchers and their ecosystems to understand their work, identify technical ways in which use of Oracle Cloud would add value to their research projects, and work collaboratively with researchers and Oracle resources to create Oracle Cloud architectures to support the projects.
Design Oracle Cloud solutions for researchers across research disciplines to optimize the value researchers receive from Oracle Cloud. Manage the technical aspects of each research collaboration in your region to support the researchers successful use of Oracle Cloud and the achievement of mutually agreed project-driven milestones and outcomes.
Actively contribute to Oracle for Research Github and knowledge base. Develop documentation and white papers describing research use cases, and technical how-to guides for researchers using Oracle Cloud. Where appropriate, co-author technical academic papers with researchers to advance Oracles presence in academic research.
Keep current on OCI technologies, especially Oracle database, data science services, and AI/ML offerings.
Keep current on the latest HPC technologies and architect HPC deployments to include compute, networking, and storage, with a focus on optimizing GPU resource utilization.
Work collaboratively with Oracle for Research leadership to share lessons learned and provide input to the OCI and product development teams regarding researcher needs and product and services solution ideas.
Work collaboratively with the Oracle technical support organizations and the OCI teams to ensure researcher success. Organize and lead cross-functional teams from other LOBs to help more effectively support and engage with researchers, including developing technical ambassadors for Oracle for Research.
Drive projects to expand Oracle offerings supporting researchers, including spearheading projects that could lead to collaborative open-source offerings and new Oracle services for collaboration, data sharing, and support for experiment repeatability.
Track and manage the recording of any research results of interest to Oracle that result from research collaborations, and support marketing and PR efforts related to those research results.
Contribute to the development of marketing resources that support the Oracle for Research program and Oracles engagement in the research market more broadly.
Support the development of an Oracle research user community, both online and in person. Activities may include, for example, offering tech talks and office hours, engaging in online conversations with researchers about their use of Oracle Cloud, offering or organizing technical lectures at academic institutions, and initiating and attending meetups.
Collaborate with marketing to identify research success stories and develop content to drive visibility and engagement and deepen Oracles credibility in the research market.
Through communications, actions and direct collaboration with researchers, establish and expand Oracles reputation as a valued collaborator and thought leader in research.

Who We Are

Culture Matters: We will build great, diverse teams who embrace a common vision, principles, work ethic, and commitment to results. We will value different perspectives, learn from each other, and do hard things. Great people do great things.
Resist Passivity: We will always have a bias for action when innovating, communicating, and executing. Prioritize actions and results.
Always Be Scrappy: Like the researchers we serve, we need to take risks and make discoveries with limited resources. This will keep us efficient, nimble and more likely position us for success.
Community and Cloud-Adoption Centric: When we evaluate our activities, initiatives and plans, we will consistently prioritize developing nurturing and collaborative communities that inspire Oracle Cloud adoption and usage by our researchers and partners. Do what we do, and do it well.
Metrics Driven: When possible (and it almost always is), we will measure our outcomes and seek to understand the levers to success. Test assumptions and measure the right things. Follow the data.
Scale Smartly: The world generates hundreds of thousands of new research problems every year. We need to identify projects with a high likelihood of success and scale smartly through automation and self-service resources combined with consistent customer care through collaborations and communities. Grow big while nurturing deeply.
