Job Summary

Develop vision and roadmap to evolve our in-house custom built and market available software products to drive a competitive edge and best serve our customers and vendor partners. Evolve the roadmap based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research, and industry insight. Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for product customers. Partner with development teams to deliver high-quality products that align to the vision, strategic goals, and customer needs.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Be the recognized expert in the business on our custom-built software products, the market, relevant technologies and our competition. Represent the voice of the customer.Analyze current state and emerging technology/application functionality and business needs proactively to add value.Define the product feature strategy and roadmap. Manage the product throughout its lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.Develop detailed business case, ROI calculations, value definition, cost assessments (expense/capital), benefits, and risk analysis.Define and drive improvements in product KPIs, related data KPIs and Business KPIs, by deeply understanding the inputs to user engagement and optimizing solution recommendations.Collect, manage, and prioritize business requirements across stakeholdersWork closely with internal partners to align business targets and drive key resultsCoordinate and prioritize the delivery of IT services and partner with development team to ensure delivery of agreed objectivesPlan and lead product launches through communication and training. Evangelize the product internally and externally. Monitor and report on usage metrics.Coordinate communication and change plans in collaboration with our Innovation Team, corporate Communications and Learning teams and operational leadership throughout the country.

Preferred Qualifications

Progressive experience as product owner and product managerExperience developing detailed business cases and tracking benefit realizationProven track record envisioning and building high-quality holistic products in strong partnership with design and engineeringFull understanding of software development lifecycle and best practicesExperience collecting requirements for agile projects, including creating user stories and documenting acceptance criteriaExcellent leadership, change management, and vendor management skillsExperience in wholesale distribution industry a plusTypically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
