An employer is looking for a Software QA in Cincinnati, Denver or Dallas for a direct-hire opportunity. They will be joining the growing Validation Team that is a part of an industry leading Clinical Contract Research Organization that provides full-service clinical trial outsourcing to biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and medical device sponsors. This team contributes to both internal and external custom software application solutions and this individual will have the opportunity to be a direct contributor in their digitalization efforts as an organization. They will be focused on a variety of different applications for clinical research as well as internal, Back Office projects with HR, Finance and additional business units. The responsibilities for the Software QA will include but are not limited to:

Contribution in the planning and execution of software testing for web-based applications

Work simultaneously with development & project team as well as end uses throughout the SDLC to ensure performance, functionality & requirements are aligned

Create, maintain & own test cases, test plans in addition to relevant documentation within project backlog, bugs, defects & updates for project team

Be a part of peer reviews within the Agile methodology, give and receive constructive feedback for process improvement, mentorship and team mobility

Work in JIRA for bug fixes, defects, tracking & modification. Documenting inconsistencies and providing Real Time updates for cross functional team member visibility

Ensuring 100% test coverage review, analyze and supplement or modify requirement specifications

Work alongside end users through the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase, gather feedback and respond accordingly

The ideal candidate will have a few years of professional experience in software testing, specialized in manual testing but will be willing to play their part in the transition to an automated approach. They will have an understanding of the healthcare industry & bring all desired intangible traits to work every day. They will be eager to learn and grow within their careers and will be someone who prioritizes team culture in their day-to-day responsibilities.


Prior experience working in an agile environment as a software tester. Have previously been a part of the full SDLC of a project.

Experience with automated testing, writing & executing. Tool preference: Selenium

Intermediate to advanced experience with SQL, specifically writing queries for data validation

Background in regulated healthcare
A minimum of one year of professional experience in manual software quality testing, hands-on writing & executing test plans for complex software applications

Prior experience working in a collaborative cross-functional team such as software development, department leads & external individuals (end users) to develop long-term solutions

Hands-on experience working with an electronic manual testing tool (HP Quality Center, HelixALM, JMeter, JIRA)

Demonstrated stability in job history; no job hoppers. Ideally have been in their most recent role for at least four years

Bachelor's Degree in IT related field
