Our client is seeking a Storage & Backup Platforms Engineer to sit on site in Richardson, TX or Memphis, TN. This individual is responsible for all activities related to managing the enterprise SAN/Storage/Backup Architecture. This is achieved by implementing and maintaining storage frames, SAN Switches and backup appliances or devices across the organization. Participates with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all storage and backup hardware and software, with an emphasis on performance and stability. This individual will also analyze and resolve storage and backup hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide technical training where required.

A big portion of this role will be working through the ticket queue. They get a fairly decent amount of storage requests, container platforms etc. This individual will review the requests, look at historical data and advising our client to best courses of action. They will be an escalation point for the rest of the team when someone runs into a challenge. Advise our client as a whole for any decision making process for storage projects, industry best practices, how they think the team should proceed. They have an on call rotating schedule once they get up to speed, it takes people 1-3 months to get up to speed. 1 week rotations for every 8 employees (1 week out of every 8 weeks).

Healthcare or nonprofit experience

Masters degree

Certified in more than one of the following (HPE Product Certified - Nimble Solutions, IBM Certified Specialist XIV Storage Systems, Rubrik Master Technical Certification, SNCP Storage Networking Certification

Strong understanding of current and Legacy versions of Windows server and VMware vSphere.
4-6+ years experience in IT related position OR a Bachelors degree in computer systems or information technology

Basic administration in either Windows or Linux administration (huge plus if they have both)

Experience with Nimble or Pier (huge plus if they have both)

Enterprise level experience with core storage/SAN/back up systems (ie IBM, Cisco SAN Switches, NetApp, Data Domain, NetBackup, Nimble and Rubrik)
