Android Software Engineer (3-8 yrs) :

Role and Responsibilities :

- Design and build applications for the Android platform

- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance

- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

- Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features

- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability

Qualifications :

- Has successfully pushed multiple Android apps to Google Play

- Familiar with the Google Play publishing guidelines and best practices

- Adept at writing code that is readable and speaks of quality thinking

- Excellent team player with an eye for detail

- Good communication and documentation skills

- Clear verbal and written communication in English is extremely important to succeed in our teams, as we work across borders with cross-nationality teams where clear communication is the key.

Technical Experience :

Must have :

- Highly proficient in Kotlin using Android Studio IDE

- Proficient understanding of different application architectures such as MVVM, Clean Architecture.

- Proficient experience in using coroutines

- Proficient experience in using Navigation Component

- Proficient experience in integrating RESTful APIs using Retrofit, OkHttp, etc.

- Proficient experience in parsing JSON API responses using Gson, Jackson, etc.

- Proficient experience in push notifications using FCM

- Experience in integrating maps and navigation libraries like Google Map, Mapbox, GIS technologies

- Experience in crash reporting tools like Crashlytics, etc.

- Experience in integrating DB like Room, SQLite, etc.

- Experience in code versioning tools such as Git

Desirable :

- Experience in Rx programming

- Experience in building Android SDKs with native code integration (C, C++)

- Proficient in writing unit tests using Junit, Mockito, Espresso, following TDD, BDD

- Experience in performance and memory tuning with tools

Good to have :

- Experience in continuous integration using Jenkins, Github Actions

- Experience in Flutter

- Experience in using notifications using Dependency Injection framework like Dagger, Koin

- Experience in Bluetooth integration - SPP & BLE

- Experience in distributing apps using tools like Firebase App Distribution
