We are already well aware of the success that Samsung Galaxy S3 has got since its launch. Lumia 920 is a new attempt from Nokia to test the smart phone competitors with a Windows 8 based smart phone. Size and Dimensions
The bulky and hefty Lumia is no match to the elegantly designed Samsung Galaxy S3. Both smart phones are sized quiet big but Lumia is not just heavy(185g) but also quiet thick (10.7mm) compared to the 133g, 8.6mm beauty from Samsung.
Display
Having a giant overall size, both phones also features giant screens. Lumia comes with a 4.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen having a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels. Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a 4.8 inch screen having same resolution. With higher pixel density Lumia has a slightly sharper display. Both the displays are protected by corning Gorilla Glass 2.
Camera
Both phones feature 8 MP autofocus cameras with excellent features. Galaxy S3 has a 1.9MP secondary camera compared to 1.3MP secondary camera in Lumia 920. The video recording capability of both the smart phones is same. Galaxy S3 also offers simultaneous video and image recording.
Processor
Lumia 920 runs on a 1.5 GHz Dual core processor whereas Galaxy S3 features a 1.4 GHz Quad core processor.
Both phones are equipped with excellent connectivity features having Wi-Fi with dual band, DLAN and Wi-Fi hotspot features. Lumia has Bluetooth v 3.1 support with A2DP and EDR, Galaxy S3 features the latest Bluetooth v4.0
Storage Capacity
Both smart phones have 1GB of RAM. Lumia 920 has no internal storage capacity whereas S3 is available in 16, 32 and 64 GB of internal storage capacity. Galaxy S3 support micro SD memory card up to 64GB while Lumia 920 supports up to 32GB.
Battery
Lumia has a non removable 2000 mAh battery capable of providing 10h of talk time and 400h of stand by time while 2100mAH battery of Galaxy S3 can provide up to 11h 40 min of talk and 790h of standby time as claimed by the manufacturers.
Price:
Samsung Galaxy is priced at around $549 whereas Lumia 920 will cost you 100 bucks less than S3.
Final Verdict:
Lumia 920 design is one major set back of the phone. With its smart features it might challenge some entry level android smart phone but Samsung Galaxy S3 is clearly a different league.
