Functions of a NOC and SOC for your business network

Published on 31 January 18

Any company needs its networks, servers and computers to have high availability, therefore it is recommended that it has a NOC, since it is responsible for managing and monitoring its operation in real time to avoid any error or degradation in the quality of service .

The mission of NOC Engineer is to prevent problems on the Net , and among its functions we can list the following:

✠Its primary mission is to monitor the Network.

✠Detectpossible threats and solve them quickly.

✠Assign and coordinate engineers for the resolution of said problems.

✠Follow up on incidents.

✠Provide reports to users to keep them informed about the status of such events.

✠Automate recovery procedures after incidents.

✠Supervise the good functioning of all assets such as servers, network switches, etc.

Functions of a SOC that will help you protect your information

Unlike a NOC, the SOC is specialized in the detection and prevention of computer threats, such as malware attacks and hackers, so its approach is more security oriented, unlike the NOC, which is responsible for prevention of errors and the care of the quality of the service.

Some of its functions are:

✠Protect the intellectual property of the owner.

✠Prevent theft of vital information for the company.
