What is a Software Architect?

Hello my friends,
I define myself as a Software Architect.
This is a vague definition because many people call them selves Software Architects.
Since all definitions maybe correct I would like to offer another view.
When I was a child we had a question: What is the difference between a Doctor (P.H.D no M.D) and a professor?
The answer: A Doctor know everything about very little while a Professor knows very little about everything.
Not funny.
The real take out of this is that the architect is more a Professor than a Doctor.
A real Software Architect must have the broad view of a system, process or technology.
Do not expect your architect to debug your method. You must expect that your architect will debug your end-to-end process, system structure, methodology, thinking process etc.
Good luck finding one!!
All the best,
Noam
