Social Media Tips for Better B2B Leads - Image 1
Social Media provides an excellent tool for business to get business leads. They can turn into eventual sales advancing your growth and success. They are a vital aspect, a business’s life blood so to speak. How do you find the leads? Read on for some useful tips for getting the business to business leads you need.
Share Content Combined with your Marketing Plan
According to Frank Dale, President and CEO, Compendium, sharing useful content and combining this tactic with your overall marketing strategy brings the best leads. He and other experts suggest a mix of content across all of the different social media sites your company uses. The mix can include graphs, contests, and white papers, charts, podcasts and more. Making some of these things interactive such as a contest or podcast encourages your audience to really connect. Building business relationships bring in great leads. Whatever you share consider first if it has value to your readers. Content needs to be mostly solution driven with only a small part being product driven. This keeps them coming back and interacting with your business. Moving forward it is these businesses that come to feel valued who usually end up becoming a customer.
Keep it Simple
Have clickable forms they can fill out to subscribe to podcasts, newsletters etc. but keep it simple. Since they also have a business, it stands to reason they are just as busy as you are. People tend to pass long forms by. They may just want to subscribe to your webinar or newsletter. Asking a bunch of questions right away is just going to make them feel like dollar signs not people. In the beginning gathering basic information like name and email address is all you need as you build a relationship through your content. Buy ads on your social networks. Create a separate basic landing page for each one to avoid distraction. Have a simple direct call to action on the landing page telling the landing page visitor what to do to obtain what you advertised. Try different ads targeted to different types of groups.
Share Expertise
Many social media sites have message boards, or targeted chats and forums. Business people gather in these places online to discuss and share advice on business topics. If you have expertise don’t be afraid to speak up. People will always remember good advice or somebody that took time to help them with their own business goals.
Perfecting your Profile

When using social media for finding leads don’t forget to fill out your profile completely. Use your about section to give a good picture of your business mission, values and customer service goals. Nothing can turn off a future sale faster than a visitor leaving your page still not knowing who you really are and what you offer them. Your social media profile helps build a rapport with visitors which then assists in B2B lead generation.

Finding business leads in social media isn’t difficult but it is involved. It takes planning and implementing your strategy and then tracking results. Building a professional relationship and trust through interaction won’t happen overnight. Good business leads take time but are worth the results.
