Programming - What the Future Holds

Everyone knows how fast technology trends tend to develop along with how quickly the tools and techniques for building those key technologies are always evolving. However, if you don’t stop every so often to take a deep breath and project ahead, you might end up falling behind rather than getting ahead in terms of programming and technology. This is why we recommend getting started in the industry as soon as possible. There are all sorts of free courses online to get you started, for instances Pluralsight has a great introduction to networking that you can take online. The only thing that could hold you back in this field is yourself, the resources are there.

That being said, here’s a compilation of predictions on how the next few years of programming will play out.

1. WordPress Web apps will be everywhere.

One key mistake that the Obama administration unfortunately made was attempting to create its insurance sites from scratch. Who still does that? Why go through all that wasted time and energy when you can simply add a basic plug-in to WordPress? Pickier people can use Drupal or Joomla if they prefer. Which platform you ultimately use is irrelevant. The fact is that there are fewer reasons than ever to build your own Web apps since there’s a great deal of functionality already built right into the primary frameworks.

The process gets even more interesting if you begin hacking the code. Because WordPress has its own built-in editor, you can easily perform your development inside the program. While there’s no actual debugger, you can quite easily get around that issue as well. Development will rapidly increase if WordPress incorporates a good database browser such as ‘PHPMyAdmin’ and also offer some fundamental debugging tools.

2. Databases will do increasingly complex analysis.

The minute programmers gave up control of data to what we call a ‘database’, they literally stopped being computer ‘programmers’ and began being actual ‘database users’, which isn’t necessarily bad. Databases are designed to be much more equipped at managing data than virtually anything that a typical programmer can produce, especially when trying to meet tight deadlines. In most cases, they’re also quite proficient at handling the memory hierarchy and using RAM. Pouring numbers into a standard database and letting it do what it’s designed to do is usually a wise solution to handling data. As time goes on, however, it’s likely to get even more efficient as the complicated databases themselves continue to get more sophisticated as well.

3. Open source will discover new and different ways to squeeze the masses.

In spite of all the success regarding open source stacks such as Android, MySQL, or Ubuntu, there still remains the ongoing issue of finding enough money to support future development. Although there are many reported cases where open source code has helped computer hackers, there aren’t many instances of how corporations created a somewhat secure ecology that enabled computer programmers to buy food or health care.

Most open source companies offer what’s more like a demo version than anything else. It’s seems the programmers often have ‘something up their sleeve’ to bargain with in general. The best companies who offer open source products will always find a way to ‘stick it’ to the customer without scaring them away.

4. Innovative platforms are the way of the future.

Regardless of all the new and diverse kinds of platforms of the future, the most important by far will be the car. Shopping and navigation are simply the beginning of what’s more to come. Once the autonomous cars make their debut, there will be countless opportunities for enthusiastic developers to make bank on car information and location. The real key is to determine which new and useful features are the most crucial to new domains.

Even though operating systems such as Android provide a basic core, basically each platform will need tailored features. For example, robotic toys may require content filters in order to provide age-suitable content. Also, thermostats will naturally relate to the weather forecast. Creating these specific APIs with the correct features will essentially be the solution.

The cutting-edge companies that do more than just dream and discover a way to develop the talents and skills of everyone around them are going to be the ones who ultimately achieve the greatest level of success overall. Finding a way to work at a reasonable pace in order create reliable software that will offer just the right amount of useful features is the solution.

5. Cloud computing and digital security will become more important

As we get further into the digital age of the world we are quickly learning that digital security is extremely important. Big businesses all of the world are paying top dollar to have digital and cloud security that is done right. These services will prove invaluable in the future, and could lead to some amazing careers for people who get involved right now.
