End-to-End Tutorial on PSD to Joomla Conversion - Image 1
Anyone who is familiar with open source software would appreciate the fact that Joomla is certainly more complex and requires more technical expertise when put in parallel with WordPress. Having said this, most interactive and robust websites are been developed on the former platform. The flexibility and extendibility offered by it enables designing of highly customized versions of websites. In order to fully exploit its capabilities and mix of advanced and user friendly options, developers prefer to convert HTML/PSD to Joomla as it allows them to meet the niche demands of developing artistic and creative business websites and blogs. Here we will take you through complex yet of “steep learning curve” methodology of converting a PSD into pixel perfect website designs.
Slicing the PSD:
The entire process starts with the designing of a highly customized and beautiful website template on PSD, a file extension of Photoshop. It offers wide designing choices and capabilities to create layouts of your choice in pre-determined dimensions for better resolution and visuals. Once done with the basic design, one needs to slice the entire PSD into different pieces that will eventually serve as the building blocks for the website. You need to slice the PSD files into elements such as main body, navigation panel, header or footer to name a few. These elements will be used as individual images during the conversion process.
Design to HTML:

This might be the second step in the list but its significance stands primary in developing a highly customized website on Joomla. The images obtained from slicing of PSD are to be manually coded into HTML whilst defining their functionalities and attributes in the website. This process needs to be executed with utmost finesses as slightest error could hinder the performance of your website. One can either try his own skills at semantic coding to code images into HTML for its enhanced functionalities or can hire an expert for the same. Once the coding is done, it has to undergo W3C validation to rule out any error in the HTML codes. The essence lies in making the site cross-browser compatible and easily identifiable by search engine spiders.
PSD to CSS Coding:

In order to have a highly attractive website that draws optimum traffic, one need to keep the codes small yet readable. One can achieve PSD to CSS coding using a cascading sheet. CSS coding allows the web-pages to load at lightning speed on a browser, irrespective of browser type. CSS also defines the basic attributes related to visuals and appearance of the website including its color scheme, fonts, alignment and other such as aspects. PSD to CSS coding separates the designing element from the content part of the website. Hence, whenever one needs to edit the content of a website with CSS coding, he/ she can easily do it without worrying about the layout and design.
Joomla Integration:

Here is where it finally comes into play. Files, the HTML and CSS ones are integrated into the Joomla domain where directories as well as sub-directories for hosting the website are created. It enables the end-user to successfully edit the website without touching the codes. One can also integrate different plug-ins and extensions to elevate the functionality of a website. The final testing of the website for functionality of each and every element in it takes place post integration.
It is always easier said than done. Hence, we would suggest resorting to some experts’ expertise in converting a website from PSD to Joomla conversion. It will help you realize the optimum benefit of the website under question and enhance your business

Converting a layout from PSD to Joomla is not that difficult as people think. Must say, this article is very well written and extremely useful to make it done. If we articulate this whole process in more refined way then it can just be completed within following 5 steps: • Creation of the PSD layout • Splice the graphics of the PSD • Design HTML to include graphic elements • CSS coding of the template • Integrating the design into Joomla As such I don’t prefer to such conversion because there are already so many sources that enable us to download pre-built Joomla templates free, just like http://wp-nulled.com/category/uncategorized/joomla-extensions/ and others. Hence why to bother about so.
