Tips for every stage of the Interview Process
  1. Prepare well because a good preparation is a key to success.
  2. Map your expertise and significant achievements related to job description and above mentioned capabilities.
  3. Be ready to explain, why the role is in line with your career progression/aspirations.
  4. Be ready with what abilities make you feel confident about the role.
  5. Research the hiring company and be ready to say why you are interested in this company.
  6. Research to know the background of the hiring manager, if possible.
  7. Be ready with to speak about past instances when you were able to learn new skills quickly to deliver the desired results.
  8. If you are preparing for a telephonic interview, make sure that you are in a quiet place at the time of the call.
  9. If you have a video interview, make sure that your background is neat and tidy.
  10. If there is a written test, please do your homework well.
  11. Always dress appropriately for face-to-face interviews as per the local norms.
  12. Arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time of the interview.
  13. Have ready a list of questions that you would like to ask about the job role/responsibilities.
  1. Maintain a warm and friendly, but professional manner.
  2. Introduce yourself and find out about the interviewer and his/her responsibilities (if not known).
  3. Listen, listen and listen with interest.
  4. Let the interviewer finish speaking before you reply.
  5. Seek clarifications to understand the questions posed, before answering them.
  6. Maintain an open body position and avoid crossing arms.
  7. Be positive about your past and current employers and roles.
  8. Answer questions truthfully, candidly and as to the point as possible.
  9. If you do not know the answer, please say so. If you want to guess, please say so.
  10. Let the interviewer know how interested you are in the position and why.
  11. Seek the information about the next steps in the hiring process, and express willingness to furnish additional information as required.
  12. Lastly, thank the interviewer(s) for their time and for considering you.
  1. If possible send a thank you mail to the interviewer(s).
  2. Call your recruitment consultant after the interview to update them about it and share next steps if any.
  3. Follow up sincerely if there were any commitments made to the interviewer as a next step.
