Job Description
Context
For one of our enterprise customers, Itility is responsible for a project that migrates a number of applications to infrastructure in a new data-center. This new IT production environment is based on a FlexPod design (Cisco) and includes Cisco UCS, Netapp storage and VMware virtualization. Itility is searching for an engineer who can support this project by migrating servers, storage and databases to the new environment.
After taking inventory of an application, all found servers, storage, network and database configurations will be transferred to the new data center. To efficiently execute this migration, we use a strict step-by-step plan, as one might find in a factory.
Competence
Bachelor of Science/master's degreeMinimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience within an enterprise environmentAdvanced knowledge of RHEL 6 & 7Advanced knowledge of VMWare 5 & 6; VCAP5-DCD, VCDX5-DCV preferredExperience with Cisco UCS manager and NetApp FAS/ScaleIO storage solutionsExperience with databases (MSSQL, Oracle) preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsGood documenting capabilitieswillingness to travel to the Netherlands if required for training or project work

Intake/analyze Servers and applications for migrationCreate migration run booksMigrate VMware instances to the new platformCreate virtual storage devicesReconfigure servers, including storage & network
Interfaces
Reports to US Senior Regional Director and to the Itility Project Manager (US and Netherlands). Works in close harmony with team members and has interfaces with business users and the standing IT organization.

Old data centers are located in Santa Clara & San Diego.
