The CTO & SVP works in collaboration with theother Global Technology senior leaders to determines how mainstream andemerging technologies should be used to advance business strategy and/orenhance the company's product offerings. She/he also 1) oversees a set ofarchitectural, software development and portfolio management processes andtools that deliver the right level of governance across Global Technology toensure predictability, consistency, quality and satisfaction; 2) provides strategictechnology perspective and guidance for the optimization of existing andemerging technology applications and infrastructure; 3) provides leadership inall leadership aspects of compliance to Marriott International policiesrelating directly to technology, information security and hardware and softwarestandards. In doing so, the CTO & SVP leads an organization that includesEnterprise Architecture, Shared Platforms, Enterprise Product Engineering,Digital Products Engineering and Technology Portfolio Management teams.*CANDIDATEPROFILE*Education and Experience*+ 4-year degree from an accredited universityrequired. MBA or Master of Science/Graduate Degree in technology or businessfield preferred.+ 15+ years in technology management,demonstrating progressive career growth, to include as a technology leader on asenior leadership team, and patterns of exceptional performance.+ Significant experience and success inimplementing new business applications with complex technology integration andbusiness process change on time, on budget, and with high stakeholdersatisfaction.+ Direct management of complex budgets inexcess of $100M direct and indirect costs.+ Direct management of enterprise architectureteams with considerations for security/application vulnerability, variousapplication development approaches and architectural frameworks.+ Experience with and significant knowledge of IToutsourcing activities in a managed services environment.+ Proven executive experience in IT development acrosswaterfall and agile environments.+ Proven knowledge of all aspects of IT functionalareas..*Skills and Abilities*+ Demonstrated ability to assess stakeholderneeds, creatively approach solutions, and decide and influence appropriatecourse of action.+ Ability to work through ambiguous andopen-ended business requirements and priorities and translate the same into aclear roadmap and definition of success+ Executive level communications skills withsensitivity to global workforce and internal and external stakeholdercommunication needs. Align the organization to drive a high returnon the Company's investment in technology.+ Communicating the Company's technologystrategy to investors, management, staff, partners, customer and otherstakeholders.+ Guiding the development of architectural,software development and portfolio management standards, processes and tools thatdrive predictability, consistency, quality and satisfaction in accordance companyand industry standards and best practices.+ Managing, monitoring and collaborating with serviceproviders/vendors contributing to the development of technology solutions toenable the business.+ Integrating customer service and support withsoftware engineering processes to support resolution of business and customerissues and improve application usability.+ Driving initiatives to protect informationand data integrity and reduce operating risk to the company.+ Ensuring the technology needs of MarriottInternational are met in a manner that is consistent with MI systems andtechnology standards. Ensures compliancewith all Marriott International Policies (MIP) and Information Security Manual(ISM) initiatives.+ Working in a close partnership with the otherTechnology functions to provide a seamless response to the technology needs ofthe business.+ Establishing and maintaining strong,collaborative relationships with key stakeholder groups to understand thebusiness, ensure timely exchange of information and customer satisfaction, andeffectively influence key business decisions.
