Principal Architect

Qualification:

Bachelors in engineering or equivalent Responsibility:

Business and Technology research and analysis :

Conduct review of the technology landscape focusing on new products, tools, trends, papers, analysts reports etc.

Conduct gap analysis based on client practices.

Identify business value of emerging technologies for the client and Cognizant to be used for recommendation when relevant.

Identify business opportunities with clients for updating or implementation.

Conduct feasibility for implementation.

Specific to Data Testing, PACE & Mobile: Identify technologies relevant to Cognizant in the short term.

Define evaluation parameters to assess various technologies.

Specific to Data Testing only:

Design and create a proof of concept to conduct feasibility of technology in terms of potential risk areas, scope for application, degree of reusability, etc Solution Building and Demonstration :

Based on analysis of the external market, competition, inputs from the verticals, create or identify new offerings (service offerings, tools, solutions, solution accelerators) to target specific gaps in the market or to address a specific client need.

Conduct pilot to check for feasibility and learnings to be used for implementation.

Analyse the offerings on the basis of cost, success to ensure investments in the right service offerings, tools and technologies.

Create inhouse capabilities to support delivery in these new offerings.

Thought Leadership :

Based on the research conducted on emerging technologies and trends and the results from the feasibility study, review the technical papers created by specialist / architect to ensure optimal frameworks and methodologies are showcased.

Present the papers in national/ international publications & conferences and address clarifications to showcase thought leadership.

Only for CXO level client meetings: Participate in customer visits to showcase capabilities and share value addition to the clients.

Understand the clients requirements and identify the right assets to be showcased.

Arrange for demos and webinars if required.

Organization Capability Building :

Review all collaterals (case studies, new solution approach, business value documents etc) as submitted by Architects.

Provide inputs if required.

Gather inputs from the client teams and business and technology research to identify gaps and solutions based on emerging technologies / trends.

Drive team readiness by sharing inputs on the clients technology landscape and providing trainings to the team.

Host webinars and share case studies with client partners, delivery team to ensure solution socialization.

Share collaterals with the BD team to ensure solution socialization.

Train client facing role holders on the new service offerings.

Participate in customer calls to address technology specific concerns.

Partner with the delivery team to transition learning and review implementation of best practices to ensure steady state operations.

Provide first level structure for new curriculum, training programs ,courseware based on new service offerings / solutions to be handed over to Senior Architects for further detailing out in partnership with the Cognizant academy.

Conduct training programs if required.

Select critical projects.

Conduct an audit to identify process/standard gaps.

Technology Consulting :

For large transformations OR deals at the engagement or account level: In response to RFP, Client request, transformation opportunities, transition process models understand the requirements and the clients process model.

Conduct a gap analysis.

Partner with the client to identify the evaluation criteria to be used for selection.

Provide recommendations to the client on tools, technologies for deployment on the basis of features, cost, performance etc.

Alliance Management :

When recommending alternative solutions identify partners to bring the optimal solution for the client.

Conduct dialogues with vendors on the solution, pricing etc.

Provide feedback on the basis of the market and client response to the vendors.

Evaluate various vendors and identify the right fit partner to the alliances team.

Specific to PACE, Automation & Cloud: Negotiate with alliance partners an create a winwin solution.

Conduct joint research and cocreate goto market strategy with the partner if required.

People Management :

Understand aspirations of associates, identify programs and certifications, growth areas for associates based on aspirations, project requirements Mentor associates and conduct one on one sessions to coach team members Set goals for team members and monitor performance Conduct performance appraisal for team members Organize team initiatives on a periodic basis.
