The Senior MySQL DBA will support production systems
The MySQL Database Operations team provides System DBA services to the Enterprise across all the CTOs. It provides end to end Critical Production support and takes care of the MySQL Server infrastructure. The team handles the Event, Incident, Change and Problem management functions for the MySQL Server database infrastructure across the Enterprise. The MySQL Server build and configuration activities are also performed by the MySQL Operations team along with the Performance and Compliance functions thru an understanding of InnoDB clustering and MySQL replication.
Responsibilities include:Designing, developing, implanting, enhancing and supporting a number of projects.Supporting production systemsPerforming the installation, configuration and upgrading of MySQL software and related productsEstablishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and proceduresPlanning growth and changes (capacity planning)Working as part of a team and provide 8x5 support when requiredPerforming code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycleCommunicating with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators Required Job Skills:10 years + of DBA experience with designing, developing, implanting, enhancing and supporting a number of projects.Experience in implementing a MySQL High AvailabilityExperience in the Installation, configuration and upgrading of MySQL software and related productsStrong knowledge of InnoDB cluster and group replicationExperience on setting up Master/Master and Master/Slave designStrong experience in performance tuning and trouble shootingExperience establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and proceduresExperience planning growth and changes (capacity planning)A good understanding of the underlying operating system Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycleGood communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administratorsAbility to handle multiple projects and deadlinesAbility to handle pressure situations since team has got stringent SLAs.Understanding of the business' needs Exposure to Oracle Enterprise and MySQL Enterprise monitoring tools Ability to work as part of a team and provide 8x5 support when required Desired Job Skills:Understanding of Golden Gate Scripting/SQL skillsFoglight/MEM The Technology Infrastructure Organization: Is committed to building a workplace where every employee is welcomed and given the support and resources to perform their jobs successfully. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. Computer Science degree preferred or substantially equivalent experience. Typically 7-10 years of IT experience.
