As a Combustion Aero Thermal Engineer, you will apply fundamental design principles to ensure robust Gas Turbine combustion operability and bring reliable power to the people with lower emissions. In this role you will execute new combustion development and Service projects, apply creativity to solve the problem and deliver the results on time in collaboration with team.

You will interact with worlds best minds to advance cutting edge combustion technology and produce cleaner energy.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Independently execute the Combustion Aero Thermal project using sound engineering principles with minimum support from Technical leader and by adhering to the business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
Conduct predictive combustion dynamics, emissions, thermal heat transfer and combustion performance modeling using 1D and 3D tools including flow network, CFD, and proprietary tools.
Design combustion systems in collaboration with team to meet program goals related to combustion system and overall gas turbine product requirements.
Develop pre-test design predictions and methods to validate the aero thermal performance of combustion systems.
Interpret the data analysis results, suggest and generate the ideas to improve the combustion system design.
Provide field support during Gast Turbine validation address issues routed to engineering via ER cases other means with the help of support from TLs and other experts within the team.
Demonstrate mindset of ownership and accountability to achieve goals.
Take an active role in the continuous improvement of processes and data analysis techniques.
Work effectively within cross-functionalMechanical, Controls, Accessories, and product service team for project execution.
Ensure timely completion of all project objectives and other yearly team priorities.
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

PhD, M.E / M Tech in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with specialization in combustion engineering.
3-8 years experience in the field of combustion aero thermal domain.

Desired Characteristics

Research or industrial experience in advanced topics such as predictive combustion dynamics, and emissions modeling.
Experience with CFD Application for combustion predictive analysisThermal, dynamics and emission with commercial CFD packages.
Strong interpersonal, leadership skills and ability to work well in a team environment with a positive can do attitude.
Self-starter and ability to handle multiple projects.
Understand of python programing and data analytics technique.
Laboratory OR field-test experience are an added advantage.
Understanding of GE Power product line and its combustion system.
