Job Overview:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction on technology infrastructure planning and engineering for telecommunications systems. This includes responsibility for translating business requirements and functional specifications into technical requirements and delivering integrated and sustainable designs for designated infrastructure systems. The Staff Infrastructure Engineer leads medium to large scale projects involving the planning, design, installation, implementation and documentation aspects of the project. Provides level 3 technical support of SIP, IP Voice, and ACD technology. The Staff Infrastructure Engineer's responsibilities are to primarily to oversee an Avaya contact center with up to 10,000 seats, as well as to provide technical leadership and strategy on other telecommunication platforms (ie. Cisco CUCM, UCCX, SIP Routing technologies, in-store voice gateways, etc..). Managed and maintain infrastructure life cycle and Improve operational processes and documentation.

Essential Functions:

The Staff Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for leading strategy, architecture for the Avaya Aura contact center suite of products. (version 8). Provide direction, leadership, and point of escalation for operational support of the Avaya contact center, while leveraging a managed services partner and colleagues for L2 and L3 support. Lead strategy for all IP Voice/SIP technologies. Manage a relationship with third party managed services partner. Set priorities and goals. Provide project management and technical leadership on medium to large sized projects to support new and existing technology architectures. Provide Training and Knowledge Transfer to Engineering Support Teams as needed. Develops or modifies infrastructure solutions while offering guidance and mentorship to more junior team members. Leads the implementation and maintenance of assigned enterprise infrastructure systems to ensure successful deployment and operation. Develops and documents detailed standards (eg, guidelines, processes, procedures) for the introduction and maintenance of services Collaborates with Technology partners to help define and understand target strategies Provides mentoring and guidance to more junior level engineers; may provide feedback and direction on specific engineering tasks.

Qualifications and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) 5 years of experience in an IT support environment with technical experience in network and/or telecommunications technologies. 5 years of infrastructure engineering experience working with telecommunications technologies. 3 years of experience leading large scale projects with or without direct reports Expertise with Avaya Aura suite of products v7 or higher. Understanding of SIP transport and session management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience implementing or supporting Cisco CUCM and UCCX platforms in a large distributed environment. 2 years of work experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior management (ie, Director level or higher) Experience with Session Boarder Controllers. Experience with Cisco L2 switches, Cisco L3 Router (Voice Configuration knowledge). Understanding of Legacy TDM based PBX platforms. Experience with ordering/provisioning new telco services.
