Systems Development Manager wanted to manage the successful delivery of Software systems and integration

This not about Technology, you must have worked with MS Dev Ops to priorities work etc with a strong and broad working knowledge of Dev ops techniques.

As the Systems Development Manager you will ensure that developments and implementations are delivered on time and within the effort and budget forecast. The reporting line will be split between the Head of IT systems Development and the Digital Enterprise Architect/Head of Architecture. Working closely with members of the senior IT management and the program team teams to deliver solutions that meet the need of the business, that are in keeping with strategy and enterprise architecture.

The role holder must have proven experience in running a complex multi discipline development team with in-house and outsourced elements. This experience must be in both BAU and project landscapes to enable the role holder to balance complex inter-dependencies of short-term requirement and longer-term strategy.

Key Tasks

Understand use cases/user stories to oversee the design of software and integrations.

Manage Time and effort against a budget.

Agreeing a development plan, ensuring delivery based on multiple inputs and deadlines.

Consolidating resource management, absorbing demand from project and BAU to ensure no conflicts and a clear delivery time roadmap is in place.

Ensuring that the strategic needs of the program are prioritised, delivered and validated by the Technical Approvals Board (TAB)

Operational Responsibilities

Responsible for the on time delivery and handover to operational support of software systems and integrations Contribute to the continuous improvement plan for software systems and integrations

Produce initial estimates for budgeting, effort, time cost.

Flowing process to enable comprehensive costs for detailed business cases

Ensuring Product Manager(s), Business Systems Analyst(s), Supplier(s), and Test Manager(s) are involved and available, engaging in robust resource planning activities with correct stakeholders.

Manage development time and effort to budget, prioritise and plan development activities to deliver with in time envelope agreed

Highlighting any predicted deviance from plan for consideration of the appropriate wider project and program teams

Drive the use of appropriate software development tools and practices, including:

Solutions design

Requirements tracking

Work scheduling

Test management and automation

Deployment and automation (including containerisation)

Governance processes

Provide periodic information to support Departmental Management Reporting.

Resource Management.

Lead and manage Business Systems Analysis and Test teams to deliver software and integrations which meet business needs, are in line with business strategy and enterprise architecture
